The Opportunity

ARCA Resourcing is working with a growing engineering business delivering infrastructure projects across the UK energy and utilities sector. This is a hybrid role designed to develop well-rounded engineers — giving exposure across design, site delivery, and project coordination. If you’re early in your career and want to avoid being boxed into just site or just design, this is a strong opportunity to build breadth quickly.

Role Overview

You’ll support the delivery of high-voltage infrastructure and renewable energy projects across their full lifecycle, from early-stage surveys and design through to construction and close-out.

The role blends technical, site, and project responsibilities, making it ideal for someone looking to accelerate their development across multiple disciplines.

Key Responsibilities

Survey & Design Support

  • Coordinate and support topographical, environmental, and utility surveys
  • Produce and update CAD drawings (2D/3D) for design and construction use
  • Support preparation of technical documentation (method statements, plans, design packs)
  • Assist in developing and coordinating design information

Project & Commercial Support

  • Support project delivery activities including programme tracking and reporting
  • Assist with cost monitoring, change control, and general commercial awareness
  • Coordinate site logistics, deliveries, and supply chain activity
  • Work closely with Project Managers and Engineers to align delivery

Site Delivery & Supervision

  • Support or act as Site Supervisor on live projects
  • Assist in managing site activities to ensure safe and efficient delivery
  • Liaise with subcontractors, suppliers, and client representatives
  • Ensure works align with drawings, specifications, and programme

Safety, Quality & Compliance

  • Support implementation of SHEQ standards across projects
  • Contribute to risk assessments, HAZIDs, and constructability reviews
  • Ensure compliance with CDM Regulations and site safety requirements
  • Promote a strong safety-first culture

Client & Stakeholder Coordination

  • Support interaction with National Grid, DNOs, and stakeholders
  • Assist with permits, access, and site coordination
  • Maintain effective communication between site, design, and project teams

What We’re Looking For

Essential

  • Experience on live construction or infrastructure projects (engineering or site-based role)
  • Practical understanding of site delivery environments
  • Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel
  • Strong organisational and coordination skills
  • Ability to work across site, design, and project functions

Desirable

  • Experience working on National Grid or DNO projects
  • Exposure to substations, overhead lines, cable installations, or grid connections
  • Familiarity with project controls (cost, programme, risk)
  • Experience with AutoCAD (or similar tools)
  • Awareness of GIS, UAV surveys, or digital field tools
  • Progress toward relevant industry authorisations
